Fiddler Papercut (2 versions)

So here is the finished item (top image). I can't help thinking that the smoke swirls aren't helping the picture though. So below, I have photoshopped out the smoke, just to see how it looks. I'm kind of leaning towards the smokeless version.


This fiddler just seems more solitary and focussed without all the smoke surrounding him. All opinions are very welcome!

  3. Definitely the right move to make. Now the eye focuses on the central image and the fiddler instead of following all the billows of smoke around. Isn't PS wonderful where you can try things out but keep the original intact in case you want to retain that? I try lots of things out with my drawings in PS in this way.

  4. I love this cutting and prefer the smoke-free environment! I'm also curious to see what effect on the composition it would make if you Photoshopped the fiddler so he was looking into the picture.
